Be True To Your School

For this assignment, we used Pixlr to take a boring, white van, and create a design that could be used to represent our school. I used a picture of an Eagle, because we are the Golden Eagles, and also added our school logo on the door.

As you can see, it doesn't look very realistic, and that is most definitely the hardest part of this assignment, and considering that is pretty much what the whole assignment is, I would say the easiest part was finding what pictures to use, even when they had to be copyright free.
I don't have a huge interest in digital design, it's not that I don't like it, it's just I am not that experienced with it, and have never really gotten into it. I would be interested in learning more about it though, and maybe trying it out sometime.
I would definitely not be interested in having a job that involves either digital design or auto detailing specifically, because I would a) not have the patience for it, and b) not be capable of not messing up, or stressing about possibly messing up.
I guess you could say that I have great appreciation for those who get paid to do this and do a beautiful job at it.
You could also say that I am definitely not one of those people, nor will I ever be.

Before the War

For this assignment, we took an old, damaged picture, and using Pixlr, restored it. Here are the before and after pictures:

I chose this picture instead of the other one because I wanted something a little more challenging and diverse. The other picture was just of a simple portrait of a man, which is still a lovely picture, but I wanted to try this one and I think I did an okay job.
The easiest part was probably the grass and the shrubs, along with other sections of the background. It was easier because there was not a lot of detail to be be done or mess up. The most challenging part was most likely the section of the house that was gone in the upper left corner. As you can notice, I accidentally cut off the window a bit, and it was also slightly difficult to get a texture that looked right.
I have never restored a photo before, but I enjoyed doing it and found it entertaining, although a little tedious. I probably wouldn't want to do this as a job, because I would stress and worry that I wasn't restoring it to its fullest potential, and that i would blot out an important detail like the window in this example. Restoring photos for fun or for personal use though, is something I would definitely consider doing again, and I am glad that now I know how to.

Freak of Nature

For this project, we had to take at least two different animals, and, using the editing app Pixlr, merge them together to create a new creature that is hopefully bizarre and literally out of this world. I present, the Seaphant.

(His name is Fred)
I chose the elephant and the seahorse because they are two of my favorite animals, and I thought that an elephant head would look quite fitting on a seahorse's body.
The most challenging part of this fun project was probably the erasing of the background around the elephants head, because I, being the very particular person I am when it comes to such things, was trying to be very precise and was getting a little frustrated when it wasn't.
I think my creation could be realistic in some sci-fi universe that I have not yet heard about (but should totally create), because look at it! Wouldn't that be one of the best little creatures you have never seen and immediately fall in love with when you did? I know I would be fangirling over it as soon as I seen it, and that is totally not a biased statement at all.
Totally not.
This is my first time using a photo editing software to edit pictures together and make new things. Usually I use the kind of photo editing software used to make a picture more appealing, but I would definitely use this again because it was fun, and doing fun things is fun and who doesn't love fun?
I'm being repetitive to prove a point.
This was probably one of the best assignments we have done so far, and for those of you who have never had the urge to, or never thought about doing something like this, when you're bored or looking for something entertaining to do, do it! I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. And if you are, we can just pretend that I didn't say that. It's not a hard thing to do.

Plan Of Action (Photography)

Tomorrow the class will be going outside and around the school to take pictures for one of the group projects we will be doing this semester. We will be going to be using different techniques, and below are five of the ones I would be interested in using.

~ Rule of Thirds
~ Move In close
~ Look Subject In Eye
~ Lock The Focus
~ Plain Background

I really enjoy photography, so I am looking forward to this project and hope I can use these correctly, and if not, than at least I know I'll have lot's of, "Don't do this"shots to use.

Apps On Google

There are so many apps on Google, a lot that I didn't even realize that were available, which is really cool. Although, I use "cool" way too much, sometimes for no apparent reason and with an enthusiasm in my voice that I myself have no idea where it came from. Like now, although I do know where it's coming from. It's coming from Google, and the apps that I am excited to be able to have the chance to use.

One of the apps that I was interested in using was the Music Player app for Google Drive. Because you have to add your own music files, and I am using a public computer at school, I can't really do that, but I know that it would still be a convenient app to use. Music is important to people, and being able to have easy access to that music is important too. This app does that, and I think it would be a very useful app for a person who has their own personal computer and, likes music when they are working on it.

Another app that I was very intrigued by was PicMonkey! I'm literally obsessed with this photo editing program, and when I seen it listed on the third party apps, I immediately hit connect. It's a simple to use, incredibly helpful app that allows you to do whatever that needs to be done to your photos. From cropping, to effects, to adding your own overlays and text, plus so much more. I love it so much and I would definitely recommend using it.

There are so many other apps to choose from, but these were the two that stood out to me most. If you have a Google account, you should definitely look into them to see what you like. If you don't have one, than maybe you should get one just for the fact that these apps are incredibly fun and useful.
